Flu vaccine is called as “flu shot” among people in daily life. Influenza vaccine is a kind of inoculation which protects us from influenza viruses.
Especially in today’s world flu vaccine is recommended because of the various and more dangerous flu viruses. There is almost no risk of influenza vaccine. The biggest harm of this vaccine is a redness on skin where you had your vaccine.
Everybody over six months can be vaccinated easily and safely. For the babies before 6 months influenza vaccine is not recommended. You must be in contact with your doctor.
Immune system is very important for people. If we have any problem with this system our body will be in trouble and we can’t stay against viruses. A person can have influenza vaccine each year and it protects him or her for one year. There must be one year period because immunity decreases after a year. A new vaccine in the new year will increase immunity again.
Even pregnant women can be vaccinated. There is no risk for them too. Pregnant women are in the risk map for influenza viruses. For this reason they must be vaccinated in the influenza season.
Some people think that influenza vaccine causes influenza. No, it does not. Influenza vaccines contain killed viruses in order to make immune system resistive but this does not cause influenza.
